Dr. Parsa studied pre-med at the University of California where he received a bachelor degree in biological sciences. He attended medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and after graduation, he completed his residency at Tulane University Medical Center. He became board certified (AAPS) in Family Medicine.

Since May 1994, he has practiced medicine in Alabama. He first started practice in Demopolis. He then moved to Montgomery where he worked for urgent care and had his own practice. After moving to Birmingham, he did a lot of locum tenens throughout Alabama in family medicine, occupational medicine, and integrative medicine.
